Here is a recipe for some hot cocoa on a nice, crisp, and cool day. Got the base of the recipe from allrecipes.com, but added my own touches....of course.
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- whipped cream (optional)
Heat 1 cup milk in a sauce pan over medium to high heat until warm (a couple of minutes). Mix in unsweetened cocoa, sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream. Stir for a few minutes and make sure all ingredients are well combined. Lastly, add in the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Pour into cups/mugs and serve warm. Top with whipped cream if you like.
This recipe is good for about 2 cups/servings so if you want more....double or triple the recipe. Also, this takes only about 10 minutes tops to make and beats the instant hot chocolate by a mile!
