Here is a recipe for blackberry jam:
- 3 cups fresh blackberries
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon corn starch
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon lemon juice (fresh squeezed preferred)
In a medium saucepan, mash blackberries with a potato masher. Add sugar and cook until juices form. Stir in cornstarch and boil for approximately 5 to 10 minutes until jam is thickened. Make sure to stir frequently. Mix in ground cinnamon and allspice. Remove from heat and add in lemon juice and stir. Transfer to jars and store in pantry or refrigerator for use. Enjoy!
